Soccer and Dance

Joseph and Maddy are staying busy!  Maddy started another year or dance class last week and Joseph started another season of soccer!  Maddy's class is a combination of ballet, tap, and gymnastics.  She was so excited about going to dance class, but once she realized it wasn't a "mommy and me" type class and that she would go in all by herself, she was upset.  She spent her first class this year crying and refusing to participate.  Hopefully she will gain confidence and this week will go better!  She sure loves her ballet and tap shoes.  :)

Joseph's first soccer practice went well.  He's most excited that his very best buddy is on the same team this year and that's helping him have a love for soccer this season!  Joe has been working w/ him at home on soccer skills and understanding the game.  Joseph isn't aggressive when it comes to fighting for the ball, but hopefully with some practice he will get in there and score some goals!!!  He sure had a blast w/ lots of laughing at his first practice last week!  He is the one in the green shirt below...

This is Maddy's dance teacher "Ms. Mary" and the other 3 girls that are in her class.  She was smiling and having a great time until it was time to actually go in the class by herself w/ the teacher.  Her teacher is super sweet.

First Day of School

Joseph and Madelyn had a GREAT first day at preschool this past Tuesday!  Maddy was very excited to go to school this year.  When we asked her what she was most excited about, she said wearing her backpack, snack time, and playing on the playground.  :)  Joseph likes routine and consistency and was nervous about starting this new school year.  He was concerned about being in a new class and asked if he could go back to his 3 year old class w/ his teachers from last year.  I reassured him that he would have lots of fun in his new class.  Thankfully once he saw lots of familiar faces and friends, he was happy about going on into the class.  I hope they both have a wonderful school year!

Summer Fun (August)

We've been busy this summer doing all kinds of fun things.  Most days we are either in the pool, at the water park, or at the beach!

Joe and I went to a "dining out" dinner w/ his squadron last weekend and we had such a fun time!  I was able to wear a dress that was already in my closet from a couple of years ago and the shoes I wore w/ my wedding dress went perfect w/ this dress!

Joseph learned how to "skid" or "slide out" on his big wheel this summer.  He pedals super fast so that he picks up speed and then turns the wheel sharp so that he slides in almost a complete circle.  He sure loves doing this.
Madelyn has learned to pedal and ride her tricycle all by herself this summer!  Can't believe how fast both our children are growing up.
2 weeks ago we went to a Tides Baseball game.  This was J and M's first baseball game and we made it about 3 innings before needing to head home.  They had a Tides bounce house that J and M loved.  Another big hit was peanuts and a snow cone.  :)

Joseph took 6 weeks of swim lessons this summer (the lessons were Mon-Thurs morning for 30 minutes).  He made a TON of progress and is swimming like a little fish all under the water.  He was happy to have his best buddy at swim lessons!

J can swim over half the length of the little kid area of the pool under water!

We have a couple of beach babies that love playing in the sand and in the water.

Both kids love riding on the body board w/ their dad!

Joseph got buried in the sand.....

My kids LOVE the mall just as much as their mommy does!  Except they don't exactly like the shopping part as much as I do.  When they ask to go to the mall, the carousel is a MUST!

This kids call this sprinkler "CRAZY GUY"!  The front of him as a face w/ eyes, nose, and a mouth and 8 arms to spray water!  Crazy guy has provided lots of fun this summer.  :)

Family Photo Shoot June 2012

We were able to get some family pics taken at the beginning of June from one of my favorite photographers Rachel Sutherland!  What you probably can't tell from these pictures is that a nasty storm was brewing on the beach as we were having our photo session.  It was actually raining in the first 4 pictures below, but you would never know b/c Rachel is just so good at what she does!  Thankfully she was able to work her magic and captures these pictures right before the bottom fell out of the sky.  As she was taking the last picture of the kids playing in the sand, the rain started pouring and we all jumped up and ran off the beach and for the car!  It was such a fun photo session and I will treasure these pictures forever!
